Level Up I: Calisthenics Foundations
Build the Base. A structured four-week introduction to bodyweight strength that teaches you to control, move and strengthen your own body before chasing advanced skills.
Build your capability
What you’ll build through the progression
Learn the base
Find a suitable exercise variation and practise positioning and controlled repetitions.
Notice your progress: Recognise which variation lets you complete the movement well.
Build capacity and control
Follow the progression in repetitions, holds, pauses and tempo.
Notice your progress: Notice when you can do the prescribed work with less loss of position.
Prepare for the next level
Review your bodyweight strength, movement quality and training consistency.
Notice your progress: Bring those observations to Sean before choosing a more demanding variation or stage.
Use these observations in your check-ins. Progress can mean better control or consistency as well as more weight or reps. Choose your next stage with Sean based on your technique, recovery and confidence.
Your training commitment
- Duration
- 4 weeks
- Training days
- 4 / week
- Split
- Upper Push + Core · Lower Body Strength · Upper Pull + Core · Full-Body Mobility + Conditioning
- Extra cardio
- Optional / goal dependent
Starting level: Beginner
Included features: Bodyweight strength · Core control · Mobility · 4-week progression
Your training setup
One four-week progressive training block. Minimal equipment: primarily bodyweight training with a stable step or bench and a suitable pull-up / bodyweight-row setup.
No advanced calisthenics experience is required. Exercise regressions and scalable variations let you begin at your current ability.
Your four-workout split
Workout 1 — Upper Body Push + Core. Build chest, shoulder and triceps strength alongside trunk control.
Workout 2 — Lower Body Strength. Develop strength, balance and muscular endurance through squat, lunge, hip and calf patterns.
Workout 3 — Upper Body Pull + Core. Build the back, arm and grip strength needed for future pull-up progression, with continued trunk stability work.
Workout 4 — Full-Body Mobility + Conditioning. Bring the movement patterns together while developing work capacity, mobility, lower-body endurance and general athletic conditioning.
Week 1 — Learn the Base
Establish technique, positioning and control. Learn how each movement should feel and complete quality repetitions without rushing progression.
Week 2 — Build Capacity
Increase repetitions and/or hold durations while maintaining the movement quality established in Week 1.
Week 3 — Own the Movement
Slower eccentrics, pauses and increased time under tension make familiar exercises more demanding before introducing advanced variations.
Week 4 — Prove the Base
Volume and difficulty increase again. Where appropriate, additional sets, repetitions or stronger variations finish the block and prepare you for the next level.
What this program develops
Pushing strength, pulling strength, leg strength, core stability, muscular endurance, mobility and body awareness. Learn to make simple bodyweight exercises progressively more challenging.
The goal after four weeks is a foundation that is ready to keep progressing.
Who it’s for
New calisthenics trainees who want minimal-equipment strength training with a clear progression. You do not need strict pull-ups, handstands or advanced skills to begin.
Four structured workouts, scalable variations, mobility and conditioning help build body control and stability without relying on heavy gym equipment.
Choose your Level Up stage
Bronze I — Calisthenics Foundations: Build the Base. Learn the movement patterns and establish strength, control and training capacity.
Silver II — Strength in Motion. Progress strength, movement complexity and body control through more demanding variations.
Gold III — Unstoppable Power. Bring strength and skill together at the most advanced stage.
Bronze, silver and gold identify the series sequence, not a rating. Ask Sean about later-stage access and choose based on your current ability.
